and another suggestion to our beloved(non-homo) game makers. can a small label for cooked foods be placed at some corner of the inventory slot for cooked foods? not asking for each food type to have a different sprite, just a small label at a certain corner. easier than making another image for each single food type(except maybe wine or other non cook able things)
Did spiders get nerfed and bloats revamped or something ? =P
I noticed on the wiki that Spiders had 400 HP and Bloats 300 a while before , now its 300 HP for Spiders and 400 for Bloats , and also that it takes less hits to kill a Spider after the 24th of this mounth.
Has something changed? aside from the +50% exp event that is now over.

Thats why we "Pay" to "play" this awsome game. But its been stagnant for a while, at leaste from our view point. We have only been able to buy things for the last months. In my opinion Neil it is an had working guy with not too much skill in public relationship.
He stopped updating us about the development of the game because of the criticism.. he should know better that there will always be unhappy customers, no matter how much you work, no matter how good you are and I can tell that he is good.
I'm sure he cares about his family the way I care about mine and because I care about mine I go to work and sometimes I take some undeserved shit from my customers.
Neil is his own boss and can do what he likes, this is true.. it's also true that people are paying for what they have at the moment but most of them are getting bored and wants something new to do. If they will not get it they will play something else and stop being gold member and this brings us back to the caring about his family topic.
I got bored about dead frontier and played battlefield 3, when the game come out there were many issues, forums flooded with complaint, some deserved some not. I cant forget what Dice did.. after a couple of weeks they released a patch with improvements and on the patch details they wrote the nick of the user who suggested it on the forum.. why did they do that? to show they listen, to show they care.
What Neil did was to tell us: Ok, you complained and from now on no more update about the game, you don't like the game? please don't pay.
This is a reaction I expect from the same troll who complained about the game and not from someone who managed to conceive and bring to life a beautiful game and 2 kids.
At the moment dead frontier has no competition, I still paying a gold membership to support the game but I spend all my time buying and selling because I cant stand going out to kill the same mob and do quests to level up and nothing more. I cant enjoy playing with friends because the game seems to increase the number of zombies around and I cant choose to group with someone and have a significant "something" in return for my efforts.
In few months another software house will release a coop zombie game as a base for another zombie MMO in development, and I sincerely hope the attitude of Neil will change, or the next time I will be invited to play something else just because I would like some fix to the game I LOVE, I will with regret accept the invitation and I think I will not be the only one.
I don't want to hurt Neil feelings and I hope that if he will read this post he will understand his spirit, I'm not trying to complaint because I have nothing better to do, I'm trying to give a couple of free advices, and I think many out there shares my same feelings.

I have messaged Ti5Ger in 12/31/11 on new years eve also on CB about the Corpse grinder that i will give back to him i should have done it ASAP but i had to wait if they were to go up in price on market i have the money to buy his credits that i owe him (1000Credits). I was shocked to find that i was banned on 1/2/12 when i was trying to log on to buy Credits and give him/her the Credits i owe him/her but here i am sent 2 emails to abuse@deadfrontier.com hoping that i will get unbanned. I would hate to end like this over all the money/time i put in to DF these years i just hope it doesn't end like this.I still want to play and Support Dead Frontier and see it grow into a famous game. Hey guys, Ive read some of these posts, and I cant say i 100% agree with you @4b9e... But at the sametime i understand. Its complicated to explain. I mean, we shouldnt all just kiss his ass, but at the same time, his newborn makes since. We should let him spend sometime with his baby. But then again, we should be a little more considerate on how we post these "demands". "Come out with new stuff, i bought gm!" -- that is unacceptable. GM is like DONATING, you are INVESTING your money. These guys dont have to be complete assholes to get their point across, they should be kinder. "Hey Admin, hope things are going well. Im getting bored of DF, anyway you could please add something new? Thanks again. And gl with the baby! " -- thats MUCH nicer, and more appropriate. He doesnt need people to buy GM, he has people who are LOYAL enough to continue to buy GM even if no one else does. The way people treat him, is like if someone were to send a letter to SquareEnix saying "hey, nice job on Final Fantasy 14, since i bought it, you need to come out with a 15th one now." -- demanding in businesses such as those would just be thrown out and ignored. If PRAISE letters were sent and *kind* REQUESTS for more features/games were received, then they would look at those and put them into consideration, but demands are easily disposable and ignorable. Just cuz you spend money on someone, doesnt mean you own them, you are just investing in them. Because of his terms of service, no one can sue him for buying GM and not getting new updates. luis, i mean, the tops of buildings are being set up, if you go out you will notice that buildings are getting taller and you can see doors and stuff :). You used to be able to see in based off the top but now buildings are getting taller and you cant see in anymore. Its hard to explain, but you can see the difference if you look. Also, Unity 3 Beta words have been put on the bottom when you play. So that makes u know he is atleast working on it.

Hahahaha I played this game about a year ago when we were all hoping admin would release all big updates in one go! Guess what became obvious to me? ADMINPWN IS NOT WORKING ON THIS GAME! He adds a new item every month or so once the profit margin starts to decrease, and the wallet warriors come marching in.
Guess what's been added to the game since I played a year ago (excluding new weapons which takes no work at all since he just adjusts the damage and rate-of-fire of a pre-made model)? Weather, Music, and Missions. Probably two-four weeks worth of work. If anyone is still waiting for interiors (lol) I estimate another 6 months.
It's disappointing because I came back hoping the game would be near finished by now, clearly Admin is his plain old self. My advice: Give up waiting, there's a new zombie MMO rolling out on Xbox Live late this year that will probably be released before Neil adds Interiors/Barricading for this game.
You guys have to realize he is only one fucking person. If he had more coders it would be more simple. You guys give him absolutely NO credit. You try coding it yourself, it is not that easy. THat new zombie xbox game coming out has 1000s of coders working on it, not just 1-2.

I used to like DF, I spent about 200 euros on it and my character is level 70-something.
In case you missed my comment, I did "get the fuck out" only to come back expecting everything to be finished since a year has passed since he was already overdue with Interiors/Barricading.
@Daniel Planto He's been one fucking person for years, if he and he alone had been working on this game 9AM-5PM like your average dayjob it would have been completed months ago - But he hasn't been working on it! The XBL game only has a small (albeit more experienced) dev team, and in 4 months the game already has more to it than DF. Neil could hire a small dev team of his own (2 or 3 programmers) with the amount of money this game surely generates, but why would he do that when he can get a steady income for not doing anything? Maybe roll out one real gameplay update every six months or so to give the fans a glimpse of hope so they'll keep renewing their Gold Membership and buying Elite Equipment.
Neil fucked up, because he had a real headstart on this certain Xbox game, which he mentioned back as he began to be a real developer and updated us weekly, he could have given Dead Frontier such a headstart... But too little too late now, you're all crazy if you continue supporting this game. I'll come back in another year to see what bone he's broken or child has been born by then.
Maybe he has trust issues, its not that simple just to contract someone else into coding for you. Plus, not only that. I have been playing this game since 3D FIRST came out, for quite some time. I know he has problems working on it, but if you actually enjoy the game then shut the fuck up and just play. You quit, and your only level 70-something tom, your a dumbass. You could get better, yet you choose not to, isnt that your own choice? Your waiting for barracading/more updates, yet you could be closer to lvl 200 now, why dont you actually WORK on your character and quit complaining, because your not the best character out there. You have no right to complain unless you are lvl 200, maxed stats, maxed gear, and maxed EVERYTHING, the best of the best, with all epics/dusk and all discontinued items. I got bored about dead frontier and played battlefield 3, when the game come out there were many issues, forums flooded with complaint, some deserved some not.
I cant forget what Dice did.. after a couple of weeks they released a patch with improvements and on the patch details they wrote the nick of the user who suggested it on the forum.. why did they do that? to show they listen, to show they care.
What Neil did was to tell us: Ok, you complained and from now on no more update about the game, you don't like the game? please don't pay.
This is a reaction I expect from the same troll who complained about the game and not from someone who managed to conceive and bring to life a beautiful game and 2 kids.
At the moment dead frontier has no competition, I still paying a gold membership to support the game but I spend all my time buying and selling because I cant stand going out to kill the same mob and do quests to level up and nothing more.
I cant enjoy playing with friends because the game seems to increase the number of zombies around and I cant choose to group with someone and have a significant "something" in return for my efforts.
In few months another software house will release a coop zombie game as a base for another zombie MMO in development, and I sincerely hope the attitude of Neil will change, or the next time I will be invited to play something else just because I would like some fix to the game I LOVE, I will with regret accept the invitation and I think I will not be the only one.
I don't want to hurt Neil feelings and I hope that if he will read this post he will understand his spirit, I'm not trying to complaint because I have nothing better to do, I'm trying to give a couple of free advices, and I think many out there shares my same feelings.

I have borrowed 800 Credits from Ti5Gr ( not really sure might be Ti5Ger) 12/16/11 est. date. and due date was on 12/28/11 i was delayed due to the holiday week. I have messaged Ti5Ger in 12/31/11 on new years eve also on CB about the Corpse grinder that i will give back to him i should have done it ASAP but i had to wait if they were to go up in price on market i have the money to buy his credits that i owe him (1000Credits). I was shocked to find that i was banned on 1/2/12 when i was trying to log on to buy Credits and give him/her the Credits i owe him/her but here i am sent 2 emails to abuse@deadfrontier.com hoping that i will get unbanned. I would hate to end like this over all the money/time i put in to DF these years i just hope it doesn't end like this.I still want to play and Support Dead Frontier and see it grow into a famous game. If i do get unbanned i would be happier to send Ti5Ger his/her 1000 Credits over ASAP.

Once again supporting admin's behavior. When the hell are you people going to learn that your so called positive reinforcement is not helping. He's been delaying all the major updates for the past year, and manuel if he had skill he wouldn't be taking this long.

I mean, we shouldnt all just kiss his ass, but at the same time, his newborn makes since. We should let him spend sometime with his baby. But then again, we should be a little more considerate on how we post these "demands". "Come out with new stuff, i bought gm!" -- that is unacceptable. GM is like DONATING, you are INVESTING your money. These guys dont have to be complete assholes to get their point across, they should be kinder. "Hey Admin, hope things are going well. Im getting bored of DF, anyway you could please add something new? Thanks again. And gl with the baby! " -- thats MUCH nicer, and more appropriate. He doesnt need people to buy GM, he has people who are LOYAL enough to continue to buy GM even if no one else does. The way people treat him, is like if someone were to send a letter to SquareEnix saying "hey, nice job on Final Fantasy 14, since i bought it, you need to come out with a 15th one now." -- demanding in businesses such as those would just be thrown out and ignored. If PRAISE letters were sent and *kind* REQUESTS for more features/games were received, then they would look at those and put them into consideration, but demands are easily disposable and ignorable. Just cuz you spend money on someone, doesnt mean you own them, you are just investing in them. Because of his terms of service, no one can sue him for buying GM and not getting new updates. Anyway, as it looks, Barracading will be out soon. I noticed that buildings were being set up, just because he doesnt post, doesnt mean you cant leave the outpost and notice changes in the game.

Oh also @4b9e... -- let me add, in the US, you are allowed 1-4 Work Week(s) off after your wife gives birth. It is a law here, every job has that rule. So you cannot flame the Admin for his baby, he still has a few weeks of "legal" free time before he returns to work. And if youd get off your ass and check out the game, youd notice the changes admin has made already.

ReplyDeleteluis, i mean, the tops of buildings are being set up, if you go out you will notice that buildings are getting taller and you can see doors and stuff :). You used to be able to see in based off the top but now buildings are getting taller and you cant see in anymore. Its hard to explain, but you can see the difference if you look. Also, Unity 3 Beta words have been put on the bottom when you play. So that makes u know he is atleast working on it.

ReplyDeleteHahahaha I played this game about a year ago when we were all hoping admin would release all big updates in one go! Guess what became obvious to me? ADMINPWN IS NOT WORKING ON THIS GAME! He adds a new item every month or so once the profit margin starts to decrease, and the wallet warriors come marching in.
DeleteGuess what's been added to the game since I played a year ago (excluding new weapons which takes no work at all since he just adjusts the damage and rate-of-fire of a pre-made model)? Weather, Music, and Missions. Probably two-four weeks worth of work. If anyone is still waiting for interiors (lol) I estimate another 6 months.
It's disappointing because I came back hoping the game would be near finished by now, clearly Admin is his plain old self. My advice: Give up waiting, there's a new zombie MMO rolling out on Xbox Live late this year that will probably be released before Neil adds Interiors/Barricading for this game.

@Daniel Planto He's been one fucking person for years, if he and he alone had been working on this game 9AM-5PM like your average dayjob it would have been completed months ago - But he hasn't been working on it! The XBL game only has a small (albeit more experienced) dev team, and in 4 months the game already has more to it than DF. Neil could hire a small dev team of his own (2 or 3 programmers) with the amount of money this game surely generates, but why would he do that when he can get a steady income for not doing anything? Maybe roll out one real gameplay update every six months or so to give the fans a glimpse of hope so they'll keep renewing their Gold Membership and buying Elite Equipment.
Neil fucked up, because he had a real headstart on this certain Xbox game, which he mentioned back as he began to be a real developer and updated us weekly, he could have given Dead Frontier such a headstart... But too little too late now, you're all crazy if you continue supporting this game. I'll come back in another year to see what bone he's broken or child has been born by then.

I have been playing this game since 3D FIRST came out, for quite some time. I know he has problems working on it, but if you actually enjoy the game then shut the fuck up and just play. You quit, and your only level 70-something tom, your a dumbass. You could get better, yet you choose not to, isnt that your own choice? Your waiting for barracading/more updates, yet you could be closer to lvl 200 now, why dont you actually WORK on your character and quit complaining, because your not the best character out there. You have no right to complain unless you are lvl 200, maxed stats, maxed gear, and maxed EVERYTHING, the best of the best, with all epics/dusk and all discontinued items. So shut the fuck up and enjoy the game already.
